Russell’s Marina Grill first opened it’s doors in the spring of 1985. The restaurant was the product of Russell Cuoco’s vision, as he wanted to build and operate a restaurant where all the Lakefront residents would enjoy. Russell’s saw an immediate success as the restaurant offered a menu that included serving breakfast, lunch and dinner at all times. In 1989 the restaurant was sold to it’s current operator, Pavlos Petrou.
With Katrina devastating the Lakeview-Lakefront area, Russell’s was among the businesses that had to make a decision of rebuilding or relocating. The decision was easy, as Russell’s Marina Grill was the first business to reopen it’s doors after the devastation. On November 17th 2005, with limited resources, staff, and menu, the restaurant went on to operate from 6:45 am -3:oo pm Sunday- Wednesday and 6:45 am –9:10 pm Thursday – Saturday.
Through the years, Russell’s Marina Grill expanded and adjusted their menu to meet the demands of today’s lifestyle. The menu offers a variety of healthy items, such as egg white omelets, multigrain pancakes and waffles, fresh fruit, in house roasted turkey, as well as ten different salads and a number of wraps. All desserts such as White Chocolate Bread Pudding, Blueberry Basil Pie, and Lemon Ice Box Pie are made on the premises .
